  2. Congrats to the organizers of the Milo Marathon. It was a very well organized race (although medyo mahirap for the runners because of the drenching rain).

    1) Registration was hassle-free. Race kits were fabulous. I really liked the handbook with reminders, tips, etc. It made sure all the participants knew what they were in for.
    2) Live updates were a very nice innovation. Thank you for bringing it here! My friends/family had a blast receiving the automated text messages! :)
    3) Hydration stops were well-equipped up to the end. Thank you for not letting us die on the route :)

    Maybe some opportunity areas:
    1) Some KM markers were inaccurate.
    2) The route was 42.4KM. Promise, the extra 200 meters was really a pain ;p

    Overall — great job!

BREAK THE TIME BARRIER!!! tapos wala din palang patutunguhan.

nasaan ang dignity at pride? ok natapos din naman nila, but not an excuse to consider giving medals to them.

ang sakin lang, it took me a lot of sacrifice, discipline and courage way beyond my limit just to prove worthy of that small piece of brass. i just cant understand what i witnessed back then. that place is a battlefield and the only thing i kept saying to myself is “guye konti pa, milo run ito eh, hnd ordinaryong run lang” and it helped me push beyond my limits.

just my sentiments though… its still up to you guys.

but even so, congratulations to all of us ^___^___^

  4. @benjo – haha ..

  6. @Aisa: I totally agree with you. Some students were just so rowdy – they even started throwing cups at each other without any care that other runners might get hit.

    And yeah, no to umbrellas.

  7. RunRio Update:
Hello Runners! We temporarily pulled-out our posting of the link to the Milo Marathon Manila Elimination race results because verification is still on-going. Please expect the race results to be officially available as initially promised and as indicated in the Runner’s Handbook, two days after the race which is Tuesday, August 2, 2011.

Thank you and we hope you had fun running at the 35th Milo Marathon Manila Elimination Race!

  8. congrats to all..kaya lang sad bkit wala un result ko..d tumunog yun electronic censor pad.no or missing data ako.bib number 20162..or 20612.tnx to all organizer.

  9. Congrats to all the runners! Ang galing natin! ehehe.. First time ko to run 21k, and in the rain pa! ehehe..

  11. lumagpas ako sa cut off time almost 11 mins, and i expected na wala n ako medal but sobra thankful pa rin at nbigyan p rin, i almost cried ng lumagpas ako ng finished line,sa sobra tuwa at nakaya ko (my 1st 21k), despite of heavy rain, i dont care about the medal n that time, importante sakin natapos ko yun race.. lahat naman nagsacrifice, mbilis k man or hinde.. kaya move on na.. importante nakatulong ka na,nging memorable p yun run..wag ng selfish..^ ^

  12. Organizers! 2 thumbs up! Madami pang magugulo na naglalaro nang tubig as is batuhan! Tsk tsk tsk!

Pushed myself to the finish since this was my first run sa milo. sarap pakiramdam nung nakadaan sa finish arc khit ugod2 maglakad aftr. sarap tlaga tumakbo pag umuulan. @Guye good thing you pushed urself to finish the race b4 cutoff, which all of us i guess did. cguro mdami lng sobrang medal since mdaming registered na di umattend. ok na pinamigay na rin yung sobra, at least my napasaya silang runner kesa walang makinabang.

  14. yung cut off time… Imaginary TIME lang…

ang finishing medal ay consolation lang…

what matter is the unforgettable experience running with your friends under the rain.

kahit walang picture oks lang… To be remembered naman ang lahat ng 1st time (sa mga 1st timer)

masakit diba? lalo na kung 21k or full mary

  16. I ran the 42k marathon but i cant find my name in the result. My bib nr is 40212. I hope the good organizer can help me with this. Thanks

  17. //@guye: you are entitled to your opinion and i respect that.

i agree with @mary joanne: congratulations for making it to the finish line..yeah, it’s true that sometimes, it’s not about getting a medal or what-have-you..it’s about your determination to cross that finish line and be fulfilled..because it’s every runner’s achievement to finish the race and cross the finish line.

i finished my first ever 42k race in a little less than 5 hours..that’s an hour before the cut-off time..and roughly a quarter of an hour after the cut-off time, there were still 42k runners who were trickling in..i saw the runrio staff congratulating them for finishing the race, and giving them the medal..it’s a consolation for these runners who dared finish the race despite whatever challenges they went through..so i would say that there’s no harm done there…good job runrio..! i’ll do my best to qualify in the 36th national milo marathon..

Basta as a runner we should be smart to run to avoid accident.

    Please baka meron kayong idea.

  20. this is my second run and my first ever 21K (my first run was 3K)… I finished the 21K milo marathon in 2hrs and 23minutes. Is that good for a beginner like me? Anyway, I was so happy since I was able to beat the cut-off time of 2.hrs.

  23. @pyxcel
i just checked the MILO results link and it is OFFICIAL already since it came from the MILO website.

in addition, at the bottom of the page –

The race was timed by RUNRIO, Inc.. For your race time queries, please contact RUNRIO, Inc. at [email protected] or [email protected].

All details are based on the data gathered from the UHF RFID B-Tag by ChronoTrack Systems.

There are still UNKNOWN remarks on some time results, though.

Congrats again to all of us finishers! ;)

  25. tama! if you cant run.. stay on the right side.. ganun ginagawa ko if i cant run na i stay at the right side.. then pag okay na ska sesegway pakaliwa saka takbo.

  28. @dennis, check out the PDF file

@machopepe, you may want to send them an email to fix the records

@Emmanuel Cavinta, should be available in 2-3 weeks as they are doing manual tagging

@Mark, there were other runners who posted their snaps during the run. hope they caught you on their lens

  29. @karl – thanks po! Expected ko na talaga na may new PR ako dito cause during my first half mary sa Mizuno last June 11 I was injured 3-4 days before ng race (sprained ankle) but tinuloy ko parin tumakbo. My official time was 2:29 injured runner kaya sabi ko sa Milo ay babawi ako. Maski hindi ako naka sub 2 ay happy parin sa new PR 2:02 official time. 27 minutes ang na tapyas. Maybe sa RU2 ay maka sub 2 nako w/ my pacermate @suplado. Congrats ulit sa lahat!! More horsepower!!!

it was awesome fun!!! dream come true :) hope my missing record will be fixed soon :)

  31. my only point is… sana wala nang declaration na 2.5hr time barrier. yes i know its just an imaginary TIME but it should also serve as additional challenge. i joined rexona and yamaha and yes, i got the medal CONSOLATION. hnd naman kasi masama na kung ganito lang din pala ang totoong image na ipapakita ng MILO runs, declare nlang at the beginning na mayroon talagang finisher’s medal for all 21k and 42k participants.

…or maybe nagkamali lang ako ng expectation sa MILO runs. cge from now on i’ll think otherwise.

tnx pa rin and congrats sating lahat ^___^

  32. yeah think otherwise guye…or else sa presinto ka na magpaliwanag. hehe just joking. My katukayo pla ako d2 at post 142 hehe.

  33. I hope we understand that we ran for 10thou shoes for children and not for a piece of metal called medal, maybe some of us ay hinangad talaga yung medal .. but sana naman hndi maging issue yung medal para sa magandang hangarin ng MILO .. wala sanang DUPANGAN SWAPANGAN para lang sa medal .. just be happy na lang dat we made it to finished the race before the cut-off time, and ignore dus hu not .. ok ??

infareness .. ang ganda ng medal .. haha love it !!

missing data sa lahat… arggghhhh… first time na walang result.. huhuhu

  37. Thank God i was able to finish the 21 k marathon in 2 hours and 12 minutes, ranking 66 th place in the age 35-39 category and 453 rd place out of 1618 21 k runners inspite of the rain.I got a Milo 21k medal finisher and a lootbag. But what makes our day complete is having a photoshoot with Chinggay Andrada of the Biggest Loser Philippines.

  38. congrats! s mga nagparticipate, lalo n sa mga taga ica-eac…for winning 4th place in milo little olympics manila…

  39. 16@ shut up!!!! kung gusto mo mag comment patungkol sakin direchohin mo! bakit affected ka ng sinabi ko? at pati pangalan ko eh isasali mo? dude hnd ako BOBO (baka ikaw oo)and it takes a lot of braincells to fully understand my side. hahahaha kaya nga sabi ko dba… “nagkamali lang siguro ako ng pag kaka alam kung ano ang MILO marathon” eh kaso umepal ka pa eh! im not after the goal of milo in doing their charity works, im after the 2.5ht time barrier, mahirap bang intindihin yun. at kahit sa anong anggulo mo (or ninyo) tingnan, walang mali sa pinag lalaban ko

  40. //@guye: i understand that you have issues with the cut off time for 21k runners for them to get a medal. this forum will not be able to properly address your concern. it would be better that you get in touch with runrio, which is the organizer of this event.

this forum was put up by pinoyfitness to inform the runners, a venue for runner to exchange ideas, views and opinions. yes, you may have a valid argument there. however, i would say that this may not be the right channel to vent out your frustrations.

to all concerned: this forum aims to build camaraderie among runners. and i think, we’re sort of deviating from that objective.

let’s all learn to respect that every individual is different and may look at things totally different from how we perceive them. and also, there will be a healthier exchange of opinions if we can do away with branding/calling others with names or putting an adjective/s that are a bit off..

    many thanks… :)

  41. after going through 2 consecutive frustraining runs… at last the 35th Milo National Marathon Finals changed the trend… great job Milo! great job Run Rio.. this is my finale run for the year and a great one at that… thank you and see you runners in 2012…
